From University collaboration to OptikosPrime team member. Peter Czumbel joins us

Earlier this year, we announced our R&D partnership with NTNU and the student project led by Peter Czumbel. That collaboration has now turned into something bigger. We are happy to share that Peter has officially joined OptikosPrime to continue the work he started with us during his studies.

This is an excellent example of how we work with students. Real research. Real responsibility. And a real path into the company when the match is correct.

Continuing the work on synthetic data

During the university collaboration, Peter focused on building synthetic data pipelines for our machine learning models. This work now continues inside OptikosPrime.

Synthetic data plays an essential role in our products. In some cases, we have limited access to real data, or we need to explore scenarios that are hard to capture in a clinic. Synthetic data can help close that gap and speed up model development.

It is also an exciting challenge. No one really knows how much synthetic data a model can use before performance starts to break down. Finding that line is part of the research. We are exploring this closely as we build safe, reliable pipelines that support VisionCheck and Argus.

A clear path from student project to real impact

Peter joining us is a potent reminder that our student partnerships work. Students who come in get to work on real problems, contribute to the core of our technology, and leave a clear mark on the products we build.

For us, it is simple. If the collaboration is strong and the work creates value, we are always open to taking it further.

Looking ahead

We are excited to continue working with Peter and to keep growing our research environment with NTNU and other university partners. As we scale VisionCheck and Argus, research on data, model performance, and synthetic generation will remain a key part of our progress.

If you are a student interested in computer vision, synthetic data or applied AI in health care, we would love to hear from you.
