FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How does Argus differ from other vision tests?

Description

Argus is the first phone-based test to use refraction for providing instant, objective measurements without requiring user feedback.  A simple photo taken with a phone is all that's needed.

Does Argus account for subjective refraction?

Description

Yes. While Argus's objective readings are often precise enough for prescriptions (assuming normal vision development and no eye disease), we also offer methods for fine-tuning results to individual subjective preferences. This minimises the need for further visual acuity tests.

Who is Argus designed for?

Description

Currently, Argus is designed for optical retailers seeking to enhance online sales by enabling customers to perform accurate refraction tests at home. We also plan to make Argus available to organisations working to expand eye care access in underserved areas.
